HYDRO-SCARCI-MUNITY was built for a community of orang asli tribe who was forcibly displaced from their dwelling in the Linggiu forested region. The design adopted vernacular architecture elements like wall designs to allow natural ventilation into the interior space and elevated housing to minimise the structural damage during flash floods. This new dwelling type grants dignity to the traditional way of living with integrated technology. The tribe can transit to a contemporary living space and yet continue with their traditional modes of survival and living habits.
